The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and presented the initial group of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to undertake their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.
The Soldiers table consists of Teor (played by Travis), Thimble (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney), the cleric (the player), and Kattigan Vale (the actor).
Dividing the Cast
With a large ensemble, it was clear from the outset that keeping everyone at a single group would be unworkable.
Hence, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, weaving together the personal journeys before splitting into three smaller tables: Soldiers, Schemers, and Questers.
What Defines the Combat Party
As described by the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed combat and conflict-driven story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Upon first impression, characters like the squeamish cleric the cleric might appear out of place, but the events of the third episode demonstrate why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group understands precisely where to go next after a brutal opening clash with The Crow Keepers.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise started the narrative’s action—manipulated the foes for his personal gain, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and taking all the powerful objects to dispose of.
Casimir then cleared his obligations and fled to a Halovar stronghouse in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each adventurer has a personal reason to exit the urban setting:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, desires retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the region and cautions that it is a nasty location.
- The warrior and The healer, having defied his house’s orders to eliminate the target and instead freed him, have nowhere else to go.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in House Halovar could enable the party reach places they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, The fighter pledged a life debt to The savior for his salvation and will now follow him anywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the powers that govern the city for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are known criminals.
- The warrior and Wicander betrayed the powerful family and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This results in them little choice but to travel to the remote area in pursuit of the antagonist.
